"Arrived late but security at the gate was awesome… room received not worth the cost even on a budget… bath towels had stains….. no wifi… Ac in the first room wasn’t working and had to change room on the second day of a 2 night stay.. second room was a bit more comfortable… front desk wasn’t bad….."

"Its a small property recently refurbished and located on the beach.Rooms are well appointed with very comfortable bed. Bathrooms have very attractive decor with good shower and adequate toiletries. A nice touch was the make up towel! Staff are pleasant and courteous from gate security, reception to restaurant waitresses. Had the vegan callaloo for breakfast and it was delicious! Oatmeal was enjoyable too. Blended fruit punch was just right- flavourful and not too sweet. Didn't have dinner so can't comment on that but restaurant service was a bit slow. Met the Owner and she was very warm and personable. Would definitely recommend and will be back."

"attempted to rip me off to stay during the storm, first, they never returned my messages about getting stuck in Jamaica. so i came the office 2 times with no resolution. So Icall them the night before I check out at 6-7pm, and they say Sorry we can't offer you a room! So I try to leave and fly out, and LONG story short, I come back PRIOR to my check out time 9am - to regroup and find shelter. So they come and say - ok we have a room- I think they will do it at the same or less rate I paid... ohhh no - they tried to charge me 200 American per night!!!!"

"I visit Negril monthly and stay here. It’s not super modernized, but it’s reasonably priced, right on the beach, and has 2 restaurants (1 is open 24 hours) on the beach front, which adds to the convenience. You also get daily housekeeping. I would recommend for travelers who are cost-conscious and want convenience."

"A year and a half ago, we began the overwhelming search for a venue for our wedding. Knowing we wanted something intimate and special, we considered myriad places, but it wasn't until we found Idle Awhile Beach that things started to fall into place. While many other venues were slow to respond and provide information, the wedding planner at Idle Awhile, Tiona, was immediately helpful and informative. Many people have asked how we picked Idle Awhile, and my response is always the same - Tiona! She not only answered my early questions, but literally walked me through the entire year of planning and decision making. She is phenomenal. When we arrived at the hotel, we were met with a lovely bottle of wine in our room - it was the first of many touches throughout our stay that made not only the wedding day, but our entire stay magical. From ensuring that my aging mother was well situated in a ground level room, to calming our anxieties upon arrival, to attending to every detail of our wedding, Tiona and the entire staff went above and beyond. Aldane and his driving team (shout out to Tremaine!) made sure we got wherever we needed in a timely and safe manner. Xavier, the general manager, stepped in to take care of music. Claudia and the staff at Chill Awhile created such a welcoming space, we rarely thought of venturing elsewhere. I miss their smiles, the Blue Mountain coffee, and beach view every morning! In addition to the wedding, we also hosted a Welcome BBQ with a bonfire on the beach the night before, and a Thank You Brunch the morning after. Tiona and her team did an exceptional job of making every event a unique experience, using the small property to its full potential and allowing us to feel like each gathering was special in its own way. We received many comments that the Welcome BBQ in particular gave guests a chance to get to know one another before the wedding day. And the brunch allowed us to take a moment with loved ones who had traveled from many places after the stress of the wedding had passed. We highly recommend anyone considering their wedding at Idle Awhile ask Tiona about additional events. I could go on - the flowers, the cake, our fabulous photographer (Stacey Clarke), the lovely ladies who came from Couples Swept Away to do my make-up and hair - every detail was attended to with care and attention. And the food was spectacular. After it was done, a friend asked if we had ever been to Idle Awhile before the wedding. When I said "no," she expressed what a risk we had taken. Honestly, it never felt like a risk, it felt like coming home. We were able to have our wedding the way we wanted (barefoot all day), surrounded by the warmth of the people and place. It is a gift we will carry in our hearts forever. You don't have to be planning a wedding to benefit from all Idle Awhile has to offer. "Absolutely had the best time at Rock House! There is not one thing I didn't love, and would recommend it in a heartbeat. Our room was the least expensive, and while small, met our needs. One day I'd love to stay in one of the villas overlooking the sea! Housekeeping was excellent. The grounds are expansive and the cliffside views and access to the water is amazing. You can just sit on a lounge chair all day looking out over the water. The staff is all gracious and wonderful. The guests are from all over, and everyone was kind and friendly. Rock House throws in a little extra something every day - one day a complimentary short massage, another day was free drinks by the pool, and every day we enjoyed happy hour from 5-6 p.m. Sunsets were awesome. Location was great and we walked to nearby restaurants - Sips and Bits, Ericka's, and Xtabi. Had breakfast at Rock House which was tasty. The location allowed us to get out and support more local businesses."
