"I’ve been fortunate enough to be well travelled and stayed in hundreds of hotels but this one is one of the best. The little details make this place so special. The accommodation was of exceptional quality with a massive bathroom, the room was spacious but so cosy I was asleep by 9.30! The food was delicious, the quality was outstanding and so lovely to see the chef taking real pride in what he does. The service was amazing, the waitresses and management were so accommodating and went above and beyond for us. This is the best value for a hotel, we hope to be back v soon!!"

"My husband and I visited Lynton on a whim whilst on holiday in north Devon and stumbled across The Crown looking for lunch. What a gem to find. We were welcomed in and had the bar menu and special board explained, it wasn’t extensive therefore not overwhelming but had enough choices for lunch. We ordered Ham sandwich from the specials board and my husband ordered pizza and fries. The food was amazing; we ended up sharing the dishes between us because it was all so tasty."

"Brilliant location near beach. Aimed mainly at families, evening entertainment typical holiday camp for young children or oaps. Very good service and well maintained facilities. Excellent breakfast, clean rooms and fun games onsite like crazy golf. I had party of 3 adults staying in the hotel side. Best value in the area for a room with 3 or 4 adults. Highly recommend for a trip to North Devon"

"I was playing golf at Saunton golf club and stayed here for 2 nights - the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Lovely rooms , cleaned after the first night , lovely bathroom and comfortable bed Breakfast was included and was great Would fully recommend staying here 5 stars !"

"Second time staying here, Alison and Vic are lovely - we can't recommend them enough. Rooms are spotless with stunning views, breakfast is delicious (cooked fresh by Vic each morning) & they made us a gorgeous packed lunch for our afternoon walk. Would definitely stay again"

"I had a lovely stay at the Avoncourt Lodge. It's a little away from the main centre of activity in Ilfracome - but as a result, it's got a quiet, tucked-away feel (although with great views over the town). It's a a fairly easy walk down to the centre and harbour area (a little harder on the way back up, but not too hard), and on the way there you are rewarded with sea/cliff views a couple of minutes' walk from Avoncourt Lodge. The place itself has an older vibe - maybe you'd place it in the 1980s. But it's well-maintained and spotless, so it's a nice homely feeling. Breakfast is served to your table, and is fresh with good produce. The welcome was warm, and everything had good attention to detail. I'd certainly love to stay here again next time I am in Ilfracome."

"Very peaceful location, spotlessly clean and fresh smelling. Room was very comfortable, well equipped - tea, coffee, hot chocolate, bottled water and biscuits. Breakfast was hot, tasty and very well presented - you choose from a breakfast menu the previous evening and this idea certainly works. Hosts very pleasant and helpful gave us a few ideas of where to eat and have a drink at. Weather was glorious and we really enjoyed visiting the area again after a long gap - beautiful walks along the river and around the area. Thank you."
