This 35-room palace once belonged to the late Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala, who gifted it to the government. Now beautifully managed by The Park Hotels, it lives up to its name — RanBas, the abode of the queens. It’s a royal oasis of luxury and tranquility right in the heart of bustling Patiala. The Stay From the moment we checked in, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were assigned a personal butler who ensured all our requests were noted and met with a genuine “Of course, sir” and Done, Ma’am. That kind of personalized attention is rare. Mr Gurkawar was not only incredibly hospitable but also went out of his way to help us with our fur baby. Yes, this royal stay is pet-friendly too. Even our Golden Retriever had his favorite meals custom-made to perfection. The rooms are beautiful, blending old-world charm with modern comfort — think high ceilings, large jharokha windows, and every amenity you can imagine. We enjoyed swimming in the pool and a workout at the well-equipped gym. Food & Service The food was definitely the highlight. The dahi kebab were delectable, and the famous vadiyan wali sabzi was outstanding. The chicken and mutton platter is a food connoisseur’s dream come true. Every meal was not just delivered, but presented as a culinary and visual delight. Our personal butler ensured our dietary choices were understood and seamlessly executed. They even remembered our request for non spicy but nuanced and flavorful appetizers . We relished a sumptuous high tea at Sunset Point, followed by the famous Patiala Peg at the bar, and ended with a private dinner under the stars — pure magic and fireworks in kingly style to celebrate a special occasion. The Vibe The palace is stunning. You feel the history without sacrificing comfort. The real magic? The staff. Attentive without being intrusive. Warm without being fake. You come as a guest and leave feeling like family. We left feeling rested, well-fed, and truly pampered We will be back soon — with more family this time. Tip; You can bring your pets. They will be treated like royalty too."
