There are two major issues here: 1. It is extremely expensive for a hostel. The highest price hostel I'd ever stayed in. I paid 48 euros the first night and 60 euros for the second night. For this sort of price you would at least expect a good night sleep. 2. If you came here to sleep, and it is is a weekend, you can forget about it. You will get booming bass until around 4am. Even earplugs don't work to drown on that noise. On weekends there is a discotheque in the rooftop bar. The rooftop bar belongs to the hostel so they don't even have the excuse that it is someone else's business. It shows that they prioritise making money from drinks over the sleep and comfort of the 200 people in the hostel. And speaking of the hostel, the rooms for 8 are pretty cramped, however at least the bunks are well designed, with curtains and electric sockets. Breakfast is not worth it. For 5 euros you get 2 supermarket croissants and a cup of filter coffee - not even a nice French espresso. For 10 euros you get some supermarket quiche and some bread with nutella (and still no decent coffee). You can however get an espresso or an allonge (americano) for 2 euros. On the positive side the rooftop terrace cafe is really nice during the day. You can visit it without staying here, which is what I'd advise. Regarding the noise level: you have been warned. You should be okay on a weeknight or a Sunday.
Great two night stay with the family. Lots of posts saying it didn't feel safe but we felt entirely safe there. Beds were comfy, jazz jam was great.....only downside was checkout was at 12 but the cleaners kept coming in wanting to change the beds so it felt like we were being rushed out. But overall it was a great little place!

I have tried to base my review on the factors which the hotel (hostel) does have control of and ignore the views of other guests. The staff we encountered were all friendly and helpful speaking fluent English. We got some free towels (normally chargeable) and a room to store our luggage on our last day. The public areas are clean and tidy with a classy uniform wallpaper design throughout. We didn’t take any food instead opting to use the nearby Lidl for croissants and baggets although I think it was an option. The rooms were small with a sink, blackout blind, opening window, functional bed and an uncontrollable vent. There were four showers and three toilets per floor for communal use. The flat roof outside the window was strewn with rubbish (condom packet one of the more unpleasant), the bed was comfortable without being anything more there was no mattress protector (so I can understand the basis for other reviews) and the vent was continuously noisy - good job we were tired! The showers were clean and powerful if not a little too hot, the toilets however were often reduced to one as they were blocked and unsanitary. The area outside is the bottom end of pooville (I can’t use other language) arriving my heart sank although I was aware the outskirts of Paris are often questionable for tourists, it isn’t an area I’d want to be alone in at night. The reason for us booking here was the availability of a car park. The parking is two basement levels immediately below the hostel (not clear on booking) accessible by foot through a number of (broken) QR code security doors with nobody answering the intercom. The car exit had a metal gate and the entry a barrier so overall I guess very secure! but it is disgusting which doesn’t give you a feeling of security. Leaking pipes and a stench of urine in the stairwell complemented with walls covered in I don’t want to know what! It’s not luxury, it’s functional. You are in an (expensive) capital city and you pretty much get what you pay for, you’ve got to adjust your expectations. It was a good base for our two day trip in the city via a twenty minute metro ride.
Friendly staff. Good access to train station and metro. A market opens in front of the hotel. Nice view. I was very happy with the very clean bathtub.
ゲゲストFirst things first, there effectively is no Lennon Hotel. There is no reception there and no breakfast room. Everything from the administration on is done through the Avalon Hotel next door so, make the assumption that you are going to the Avalon and you will not get lost or confused. The decor is both dated and modern at the same time. I would say, typically French so I am glad they didn't go all chain hotel and boring. The Bedroom - The choice of furniture I would question. In some pictures you can see what looks like a coat rack. This is the 'wardrobe' in the room. There are 6 hooks which may or may not have 6 hangers. Beneath that could well be a full size laptop safe (free to use) and under that, what I would have used as the shoe shelf. There really isn't anywhere for smaller items at all, they likely will stay in your luggage. With the lighting it's either bright or very bright so, there wasn't really an option to have it dimly lit though there are a selection of ceiling light, wall lamps and table lamps, they are all bright. Our room (100) was not a king size bed, I feel 4' 6” as it was certainly smaller than we are used to. In many pictures it shows the white bed pillows supplemented by small blue (green) ones. This is certainly not the case with every room. The Bathroom - I can but speak for our room as I understand other rooms have different configurations. We had a walk in shower with a rain shower head and a hand held spray adjusted using ornate handles. The toilet was on the wall. I personally don't like those, I feel incredibly unsafe especially when they creak like this one did when sat on. To make it worse, we're only 5' 3” and it's just too high, we felt like 5 year olds in need of a step stall. I wondered if this might not be aimed at wheelchair users as I am disabled but I do not use a chair but a mobility scooter (which there was plenty of room for). Then I consider the sink which is high up, too high for a wheelchair user. Of course, there is no chair in the shower either so, if it is meant to be an accessible room, it kind of isn't. The walls are done in tiles. Very mismatched tiles, not sure whether that was intentional or just years of different repairs and replacements. I feel that the light blue small square tiles were original but that when the shower, toilet and sink were last done they were not replicable so got replaced with blue rectangle tiles. The floor tiles are probably original but very worn and though they may have been, I never felt they were clean. Being a walk in shower the water got everywhere and the floor remained wet all night so we kept a towel on the floor by the door. Us British might find it weird to see a hairdryer in the bathroom right next to the sink, I think a plug socket too! The large round mirror was supposed to light up with a touch switch but, we never got it to work. The water pressure was though very good and combined shower gel/shampoo is provided as are ample towels which are s

ゲゲストI wanted to give this hotel 5 stars as it would have met all expectations, and met them well. Unfortunately the water was off for 2 of the four day stay, so I can’t honestly give 5 stars. The hotel is on the periphery of Paris, beside the main road. It is close to a metro station. The metro takes you directly into central Paris. You can visit Place de Concorde and Montmatre directly from the nearest metro station on line 12. We had a family room for 3 people. The room is small but has all the facilities you need. Towels and toiletries were included. Obviously when the water is off you cannot shower or flush the toilet or wash your hands. There are a few shops near the metro. The patisserie was very good. Very good. This is straight on from the hotel. There is also a cafe bar, pharmacy and supermarket. In the other direction - turn right out of the hotel entrance- there is Enzo’s. This is a Pizza restaurant. It is welcoming and friendly. There is a small grocery shop next to Enzo’s, and a bit further along there is a small supermarket. The hotel was pretty quiet in the bedroom. Public areas were very busy. Outside two or three people asked for change each time you passed them. Occasionally I saw a person sleeping rough. None of them were ever threatening, aggressive or intimidating. There is also a Greek deli next door to the hotel.
