"Would objectively avoid the hotel. We were apprehensive before going given all the negative reviews but were hoping that maybe big issues (like lack of hot water) have been sorted by the time of our stay in February. Sadly not. Be prepared - There is no hot water. At best you get lukewarm water if showering in the morning. Reception told us this was a structural issue with the hotel, nothing can be done. - I saw positive reviews about staff. Definitely not our experience. Absolutely clueless kids on work-experience-kind-of-vibe. Know nothing and not interested in helping with anything really. - Hotel is not clean. Despite being new, it does not look or feel as such. Rooms were not cleaned throughout our stay - would change towels and that’s about it. Beds unmade. Floors not mopped or hoovered. - Ski room. Wet and flooded most of the time. Nowhere to sit to put your boots on. Keys get jammed. Doors into ski room constantly bang into exit doors so you get blocked trying to leave the ski room if people are trying to get in. Not heated so ski boots soaking wet in the morning - Rooms and hotel itself - not sure who built it, it’s really quite comical. Little thought has gone in any basic details: lack of sockets, one tiny radiator in room making it hard to dry clothes overnight, no doors on the shower, no ceiling lights in rooms making is very dark. Lifts have a life of their own - not easy to catch one esp during peak hours. On a positive note - Breakfast spread was solid. Great that they provide everything to make yourself a lunch picnic. - Bedding and bed was soft and good quality. Finally, re location: - Great IF one can ski at an ok level - then the hotel offers a fantastic ski out, and you can get to Chabrieres in 15min in time for kids classes. - Terrible if one cannot ski confidently - we saw some families with small kids who had to walk for good 15-20 mins with skis up the hills to get to the ski school…"

"A real 4 star hotel in Vars. Who knew? The owner - Delphine- is always present . she welcomes the guests personally and even took us to our room. Always smiling and making sure you are taken care of. The room we stayed in while a little small (not unusual in Europe) was greatly appointed. the lobby, bar/lounge area and restaurant feel very warm and are super welcoming. Dinner at Skitchen (the restaurant) was excellent and Benjamin at the bar is passionate about making the best , original cocktails - really awesome! The breakfast buffet is perfect before heading to the slope. The spa is also awesome ( jacuzzi, Turkish bath, sauna, rest area) . Overall, a really nice small luxury boutique hotel in Vars ski resort, in the southern Alps in France."
