This place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

I can’t say enough good things about my stay at this incredible homestay on Dongshan Island—it’s hands down one of the best accommodation experiences I’ve ever had, and I’m already counting down the days until I can come back. From the breathtaking sea views to the thoughtful, attentive service, every single detail made my trip unforgettable, and I’m so glad I chose this homestay for my island getaway. First and foremost, the seaview here is absolutely stunning, beyond anything I could have imagined. The homestay boasts an unbeatable location with unobstructed views of the endless blue sea, and I spent every spare moment just admiring the ocean, both morning and night. Waking up early to watch the soft golden sunrise glisten over the water, with gentle waves lapping against the shore, was the most peaceful way to start each day. As the sun set, the sky painted itself in warm hues of orange and pink, reflecting beautifully on the sea, creating a romantic and serene scene that took my breath away. Even at night, the quiet glow of the moon on the water and the soft sound of waves made the view just as magical. I took countless beautiful photos during my stay, and every snapshot perfectly captures the mesmerizing beauty of this place—no filter could ever do the real scenery justice. What surprised me most is that the homestay is even more beautiful in person than the online photos. When I booked the room online, the pictures looked lovely, but I didn’t expect the actual space to exceed my expectations by such a large margin. The interior is cozy, clean, and tastefully decorated, with large windows that frame the sea like a living painting. Every corner of the homestay is well-maintained, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The layout is designed to maximize the seaview, so no matter where you are—whether it’s the bedroom, the living area, or the small terrace—you can always feast your eyes on the gorgeous ocean scenery. It’s clear that the host put a lot of love and care into creating this wonderful space. The service here is incredibly thoughtful and attentive, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The host and all the staff are friendly, warm, and always ready to help with any needs or questions I had. They were quick to respond to messages, offered useful tips for exploring Dongshan Island, and went out of their way to make sure I had a comfortable and pleasant stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and their genuine hospitality made me feel valued and cared for throughout my trip. Unlike many other accommodations where service feels impersonal, this homestay’s service is heartfelt and dedicated, adding an extra layer of warmth to the entire experience. I’ve traveled to many coastal destinations, but this homestay on Dongshan Island stands out as a true gem. The combination of picture-perfect sea views, stunning in-person beauty, and top-notch, thoughtful service is simply unbeatable. I left with so many wonderful memories and a heart full of joy, and I will definitely come back again and stay here on my next visit to Dongshan Island. ⭐ 5/5 — A Truly Exceptional, Warm-Hearted Stay at Zengcuo’an Village ⭐ I travel often and have experienced many different types of hotels and accommodations over the years. From 25 Nov 2025, I stayed at Hua Cai Xiao Zhu · Florich 民宿 (环岛南路曾厝垵店) for 12 nights, and extended my stay by another 3 nights because it genuinely felt like home. That alone says everything. 😊 From the moment I arrived, the experience was not just comfortable, but deeply warm and reassuring, thanks to the owner and housekeeper who went out of their way to make sure every detail of my stay was taken care of. 🙏 I stayed in the Huacai Balcony Tub Room on the 5th level. I believe this is the only accommodation in Zengcuo'an that has an elevator. The room was very clean, modern, and thoughtfully equipped. The large bathtub and giant HD projector made every evening wonderfully relaxing. The balcony overlooks Zengcuo’an Village and is just 50 metres from the village church. I even enjoyed a beautiful sunrise at around 6:30am right from my room. 🌄 The location is outstanding. It’s about 200 metres from the main entrance of Zengcuo’an Village, surrounded by everything you could possibly need. There are countless eateries nearby, including my personal favourite right in front of the accommodation — 福鼎肉片小吃店, run by the warm and amiable 美金姐, a 56-year-old local lady (highly recommended!). 😋😋 Convenience stores, fashion and accessory shops, souvenir stalls, luggage shops, spas, travel agencies — and even a McDonald’s — are all within easy reach. 👍👍 Several attractions are also within walking distance, including Pearl Public Beach and Music Square. One of the smartest ways to explore Xiamen is the CNY 50 hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus (24 stops), with the bus stop conveniently located right in front of the village on the right side. It’s honestly the most affordable and efficient way to see the city. What truly made this stay exceptional, however, were the people. 👬👭 The owner, 许老板, is incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. He patiently gave directions, recommended places to visit, pointed out nearby essentials like the bank and pharmacy, and even allowed me to store my luggage while I was away for a few days. When I checked out, I was down with a cold — he not only helped with my luggage, but also personally drove me to the airport, making sure I arrived safely. That level of care is rare. 💯💯💯 The housekeeper, 秀容, is equally wonderful. Always smiling, always attentive, she made sure I was comfortable every single day — from providing extra water, tissues, and towels to quietly checking that everything was in order. Her warmth made the entire stay feel effortless and homely. . One last tip: don’t miss the sunset. Walk across the overhead bridge from the village and enjoy the beach scene between 4:30pm and 6:30pm — it’s absolutely unforgettable.🌻🌷 Overall: highly, highly recommended. Hua Cai Xiao Zhu · Florich 民宿 (环岛南路曾厝垵店) is more than just a place to stay, it’s a place where you feel genuinely cared for. シービューミレニアムホテルは、以前からずっと気になっていたホテルで、老舗の一つと言えるでしょう。年季は入っていますが、宿泊体験はとても良かったです。ホテルのスタッフは皆とても親切でプロフェッショナルで、部屋も快適で、久しぶりによく眠れました。ホテルの立地も抜群で、地下鉄1号線のA出口を出てすぐ、隣には賑やかな商店街があります。友人にもぜひ勧めたいです。

乾淨的民宿，裝修很小清新，我們訂的是一樓的大床房，價格實惠，入住體驗好。晚餐是老闆親自下廚，量大新鮮，味道不錯。老闆的父親一直前後忙來忙去，給我們泡茶，提供許多有用的遊覽訊息。是一次很好的住宿經歷。

ヴィーシェンガーデンチャオシュー・ナンヤンワンフォン・スイートに家族で宿泊しました。期待をはるかに超える素晴らしい体験でした！この民宿は中山路歩行者天国（4階）に位置しており、外に出ればすぐに様々なB級グルメが楽しめ、観光にも非常に便利です。家全体がレトロな南洋デザインで、温かみのあるブラウン系の配色に籐やレトロな花柄タイルが使われており、雰囲気満点です。ホテル内にはインスタ映えスポットがたくさんあり、空中庭園や熱気球の装飾など、どこを撮っても雰囲気のある写真が撮れます。部屋は広々としており、寝具は柔らかくて快適で、室内は全てスマートコントロールです。出前ロボットが完備されており、注文した食事が直接部屋まで届くので、旅行中の面倒が省けてとても便利です。また、無料のランドリールームもあり、長期旅行中の洗濯に非常に役立ちました。スタッフは親切で気配りが行き届いており、賑やかな場所にあるにもかかわらず防音もしっかりしていて静かでした。コストパフォーマンスも最高で、強くお勧めします！

黄ビーチの近くのこの親子ホームステイは、赤ちゃんにとって本当に福音です!親子部屋のスライドとオーシャンボールプールは、赤ちゃんが遊ぶのを止められないほどにします。部屋は広として快適で、カーテンは日陰効果があります。この部屋は別に仕切られており、中庭の景色を一望できると言えます。ベッド2台1メートル8+1メートル5、フロントデスクにはかわいい子供用枕も用意されており、大人も子供も快適に眠れます。部屋を変えたところ、叔母が掃除機を使ってオーシャンボールプールを掃除しているのを見ました。衛生状態は、家にミンワがいることを安心させました。上司のサービスはとても思いやりがあり、公共の傘、無料の砂掘り道具、中庭の砂を洗うための水圧銃、フロントデスクには防蚊水、蚊取り線香、赤ちゃんが必要な洗濯室、洗濯機、乾燥機があります。ホテルは黄ビーチから500メートルの距離にあります。赤ちゃんの活動は毎朝砂を掘ることで、楽しい時間を過ごします。周辺のフードストリートもとても便利です。ここに3泊する価値があると思います。赤ちゃんを連れて厦門に来るのは正しいことです!

出張で5日間の滞在を予約しました。 ホテルのロケーションは良いです。階下には小さなショッピングモールがあり、レストランもいくつかあります。(スターバックスやマクドナルドなど) この地域で最も人気の高い観光客や大型ショッピングモールへは、タクシーですぐに行けます。場所によりますが、5～15分です。 ホテル全体はとても清潔です。 さて、悪い点ですが(参考までに、私は12月にここにいて、日中は18度、夜は12～14度でした)、自分の快適さのために部屋の温度を自分で調節したいのであれば、このホテルは予約しないでください。ここでの問題は、部屋に空調設備があるのですが、後で分かったのですが、実際には部屋の温度を調節していないことです。ホテルは毎日、集中空調で暖房を入れていました。部屋が「暑すぎる」と感じ、息苦しさを感じて頭痛がするので不快になっていると苦情を言いました。開けられる窓がないので、部屋に「新鮮な空気」を入れる方法がありません。また、夜間の睡眠にも影響があり、非常に不快な気分でした。この問題についてスタッフに話そうとしましたが、彼らの返事は基本的に「私たちにできることは何もありません」という単純なもので、解決策を提案する試みさえなく、室内の空調は実際には部屋の温度を制御していないとのことでした。 もう 1 つの問題は、滞在の最初の夜に部屋の掃除が必要なかったので DND (邪魔しないで) ボタンをオンにしたのですが、戻ってみると部屋は掃除されていて、物が移動されていました。確かに、片付いた部屋に戻ってくるのはうれしいですが、DND スイッチをオンにしたにもかかわらず、誰かが入ってくるとは思っていませんでした。3 日目も同じことが起こりましたが、今度は部屋の中で仕事をしていました。 DND ボタンがオンになっていたにもかかわらず、スタッフはドアをノックし、部屋の清掃が必要かどうか確認しに来ました。拒否した後も、部屋の清掃が必要かどうかを確認する電話がかかってきました。これは他の人にとっては良いサービスかもしれませんが、私にとっては、重要な仕事の電話会議中に邪魔され続けたため、非常にイライラしました。 これが「ヒルトン」であることを考えると、最後にかなり物足りないと感じたのは、チェックアウト時にスタッフが滞在の領収書/請求書が必要かどうか尋ねたことです。払い戻しのためにオフィスの会計部門に提出する必要があるため、必要だと伝えました。実際、滞在の請求書は印刷できないと言われました。Trip で自分で印刷する必要がありましたが、それは問題ありませんでした。自分でできると思っていましたが、ルームサービスなどを使用したため、「Trip」の Web サイトで印刷できませんでした。「ヒルトン」グループからの全体的な体験が非常に悪いと感じました。間違いなく、これまでで最悪の滞在でした。

Given the late hour and festive season, we were concerned that nearby restaurants might already be closed. To our pleasant surprise, several small eateries within 50 meters of the hotel were still open, allowing us to enjoy a proper late dinner. It was a reassuring start to our stay. The hotel’s environment is comfortable and welcoming. The lobby features a bright, clean design with warm wood tones and soft lighting that create a calm, relaxing atmosphere. A tasteful display area and cozy seating space add a subtle blend of business functionality and artistic charm. The front desk staff were professional and courteous, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient despite the late hour. We stayed in the Premier Themed Room (Japanese Style with Sakura), which was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Upon entering, we were greeted by a beautifully designed Japanese-inspired interior. Warm lighting, wooden flooring, and delicate sakura (cherry blossom) wall art created a serene and elegant ambiance. Wooden partition panels and subtle decorative details added refinement, giving the space an artistic yet tranquil feel — almost like a small ryokan-style retreat in the heart of Xiamen. The room was thoughtfully designed, spacious, and impeccably clean. A charming feature was the private balcony, which allowed fresh air in. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, dressed in crisp white linens. The mattress offered excellent support, and the pillows were soft yet supportive, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. All essential toiletries were generously provided, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, dental kits, slippers, and towels. Everything was neatly arranged and well-maintained, reflecting attention to guest comfort. The complimentary breakfast was another pleasant surprise. It offered a good variety of well-prepared options, making it a satisfying way to start each day. The location is highly convenient, close to the Xiamen International Convention & Exhibition Center, with California Plaza Shopping Mall next door offering numerous dining choices. Whether for business or leisure, the hotel is an excellent option. Most importantly, the nightly rate was very reasonable and offered excellent value, especially considering the themed décor, balcony, full amenities, and included breakfast. The stay exceeded our expectations. We would gladly choose this room again on our next visit. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Highly recommended!
