First, the night before Christmas Eve, the manager wakes up and realizes he hasn't ordered Christmas dinner. At reception, while we're waiting for lunchtime, he asks me what we want: meat or fish. He tells me I haven't replied to his email, in which he asked this question. 1. I never received an email from him (yes, I checked my spam folder). 2. When you see there's no answer to an urgent question, you call, right? I told him I could make the choice as soon as the children got back from the club (it was 11:50 am, the club closes at 12:00 pm). He replied, "Madam, they are YOUR children, don't you know what they prefer???" No, because "meat" and "fish" mean nothing! What kind of meat and what kind of fish? What dish? Baked, pan-fried, steamed...? And no, I don't order meals for my children, they choose for themselves. The manager replied, "I can't wait, I have to make a reservation right away. If you don't answer right away, you won't get what you want!" At noon the club was closed, the children arrived at reception... and reception was closed too! The worst part was during lunch at 12:10 pm, the manager went around to the tables with his list and asked EVERYONE what they preferred for the Christmas meal. What was the point of speaking rudely to me and threatening to deny me what I wanted? The second very unpleasant point was the TV in the bar being on even when no one was there. Children, who are being warned by the government not to spend all year in front of screens, are glued to the TV watching news that's completely inappropriate for their age. I asked them to turn it off several times when no one was at the bar. The hostess, Florine, was kind and attentive, but the manager (again) spoke rudely to me: "I don't have time to deal with that, I'm in a meeting, close my office door!" The customers' interests? Absolutely nothing... especially when it comes to children! The "icing on the cake" (and this is where the famous Thomas comes in) on the most magical night of the year for the little ones, Santa Claus arrives at 10:30 pm (already too late for 3-6 year olds, even though we asked to postpone his arrival, but it was no use!), to distribute the presents. He goes up on stage in front of all the families (and especially the children), with two bags (for dirty laundry), and starts sorting the gifts: he takes a box, turns it over, puts it back in... and that's when we started to wonder! Why are you sorting? Just take the first one that comes and give it to them! It's already too late for the little ones. After that..."
