"We visited the place and had talked to somebody earlier and told us there are rooms and food. After getting there, no food super tired from a long journey. The receptionist was super rude( poor customer service). I think a client should be given options. Despite me being a loyal client she didn't care. Of course am not visiting the place anytime."

"The place is full of love and life, the manager Lawrence Onyiengo really relates well with the colleagues and guests. A hotelier by nature The environment is clean and serene, The food is made with love and portions generous, How i wish i could tip all who attended to us some more but we will be back soon with friends shout out to Emily, Lawrence, Lillian, the Indian cuisine chef and chef Kevin. I saw some guests being rude to LAWRENCE but he carried himself out with decorum"

"We enjoyed ourselves while at Swara over Christmas. The staff were charming and very helpful.Rosemary at the reception was on top of things. Meals were great and a good variety. They also had kids minders at the playground and kids activities.We loved the bonfire at night Downside The rooms were a bit old for that price point. They didn't change towels daily ,though once we asked for them to change they did so. The person minding the bonfire had to be called every time to adjust the fire. I hope they can also get a real pool in future!"

"The front desk staff is warm, helpful, and too good. However, there are serious challenges in housekeeping and maintenance. The hot water mix in the shower and the wash basin is very unpredictable. One may get a scalding due to the sudden spurt and occasional murky water. The room size is too small for even keeping two bags. The food is okay, except for the buffet, other a-la-carte is a test of your patience. Nice campus and ambiance and lot of options for activities"

"We decided to go for new year’s lunch (a family of six) and were pleasantly surprised by the serene and beautiful environment. However, the service from the waiters was very poor. Initially we were seated in the sofas (waiting area) but were not told whether they were preparing a table or… after 15 minutes I went to talk to the supervisor to find out what was going on. She promised to give me an update in 5 minutes. After another 15 minutes (now 30 minutes) without anyone coming over I again went to ask what was happening. At that time we were assigned a waiter (after 30 minutes) he came and took our orders and found us a table. We waited for 2.5 hours before our entrees were served! The main meal came about 20 minutes after that. To make matters worse I found a fly in my salad - see picture! During the 3 hours wait I googled Trip Advisor and found a number of reviews about many flies - I saw many flies around the kitchen area. On reporting the fly and long wait to the supervisor she mumbled something about being pulled to some other duties… no real apology… SMH. At the end of the ordeal I was charged the full amount for the food - no offer to waive one dish to amend for the poor service as any decent restaurant would have offered. The one redeeming aspect was the waiter we had, Nicholas Nduta, who apologized profusely and did his best. The waiters need training on communicating with customers - good communication and updates would have turned this negative experience to a positive one. "
