"Fantastic value, a warm welcome and very comfortable accommodation. Stayed for two nights on my own. The pub is a traditional coaching inn type pub and clearly a magnet for locals, who were very evident in the bar. There was very much a sense of community, with customers greeting one another but also friendly to strangers like me. I felt very comfortable and enjoyed traditional pub fare both evenings. Staff were friendly, efficient and skilled. My room was a small twin, with a tiny but very tidy and modern shower room. The beds had fantastic mattresses (high end Ikea), which I found extremely comfortable both sleeping and sitting up on to watch telly (the latter isn't easy as I have a somewhat creaky back). The hotel is a little tired in places, but that is very much what I would expect for a historic building that hasn't had actual millions thrown at it to turn it into five stars. But where is mattered everything was well thought through and delivered. The cost for two nights B&B and evening meals with wine totalled less than a single night B&B in many other pubs with rooms. I would most definitely stay here again."

"The Coach House is in a quiet secluded location between Chirnside and Allanton. It's extremely peaceful and a great place to relax and unwind. The cottage is spacious and comfortable with all the amenities you need for your stay. Liz is very helpful and was available to answer any questions. It's a perfect place to stay for the Jim Clark Rally and I highly recommend it!"

"Took my wife away to celebrate her retirement. This was a jewel of a place. The service was excellent. The meals were fabulous and the staff excellent. I would highly recommend this place."

"We stayed for the night in April in room 2 which was lovely and spacious and most importantly comfy! Huge bed and a lovely seating area in a sunny spot by the window. Dinner was delicious and the team are hugely welcoming and friendly. I think the breakfast is up there with the best I’ve had, which set us up for a day of walking. Great place to stay and eat"
