Travelodge East Grinstead

"Only booked here as it was incredibly close to a venue we needed to visit. I rarely leave reviews, but as I really wish I had read the reviews on here beforehand, I'm posting this so others hopefully learn from our mistake! Unfortunately the air con in our room (205) didn't work and just flashed an annoying blue light throughout the 2 nights. Given the hot weather, we had no choice but to open the windows...but we were situated directly opposite the very popular Wetherspoons and the noise from it's many customers frequently yelling at each other and breaking glasses made sleeping impossible. Even once all the Wetherspoons customer had left, the cars with loud revving engines and screeching tyres then began... I feel like every boy-racer must have been in the surrounding area! Even though I bought their £3.50 WiFi package, it was terrible! And trying to use the hotspot on my phone didn't give great connection either - so clearly it's the location that's the issue. So please, learn from my error - read all the honest reviews on here and avoid this Travelodge, or in my case, I think I'll just avoid ALL Travelodges as they really aren't worth the aggro and discomfort."

"We were greeted by lovely people who seem to run the bar next door also , room was clean and tidy and bed was comfy ,we were only on a flying visit taking a tour of Ashdown forest ,I would stay here again next time I would probably make sure the room had a bath lot of walking needed a good soak but very local to the town and restaurants ,shops etc"
