"Wonderful welcome on arrival from all the staff. Lovely little hotel with a real country house feel. Excellent food and just loved the signature G&T with watermelon, couldn't get enough of those! Most outstanding memory was the absolutely fabulous bed linen. Proper linen with hand stitched embroidery, I was tempted to ditch my entire wardrobe in the room and fill the suitcase with all the bedding instead. A very comfortable stay indeed. Thank you."

"The decoration of the hotel is very exquisite, in European aristocratic style. The front desk service was very enthusiastic, and the female manager took the initiative to upgrade me to a sea view room on the second floor. As soon as I entered the room, I saw two whales spraying water on the beach on the balcony. It deserves to be called a whale watching town, with sea view + whale, the scenery is really good."

"We stayed 2 years ago and loved it so booked again for 4 nights. We requested a quiet room We were not given the room (6) we were booked for but a dark ground floor room with no outlook and no privacy. The curtains had to be kept drawn all day. It was next to reception with accompanying noise. Despite repeatedly asking for an explanation none was forthcoming. We were told an alternative room was available/ then told it was being used/ then told we couldn’t look at it/ would have to get permission and so on. We were told that despite load shedding ‘everything worked except AC and hair dryers. In truth nothing worked except dim ceiling lights and Wi-Fi. Given the ongoing issue with load shedding surely a 5* venue should be self sufficient. When asked when load shedding was taking place we were told to down load the app! How about putting up a notice. We found the receptionist to be dismissive with a tendency to minimise issues rather than address and deal with matters raised. We felt that there was an issue with reception staffing having been told that someone had been ‘brought in to sort things out’. Staff there seemed to have just started and reluctant to take responsibility."
