"We were attending an event nearby and really needed a place to stay with our 2 small dogs. We arrived on a Friday and were informed that since it was under renovation construction noise was to be expected. And it was. Not a real problem but the room in "the barn" was sparse to say the least. One chair, one old creaky bed, a decent bathroom but no mirror. Nice if you don't want to see what you look like in the morning but a real problem if you want to attend an event and look halfway decent. No tv. Normally, not an issue but our 1000 Island cottage doesn't have one so was looking forward to a bit of vacuous viewing. No fridge. There was a wonderful modern air conditioner. Bring earplugs if you are on the first floor as the noises people make upstairs are horrendous, we were awakened both nights at 2:00 am from stomping or bed jumping. Went on for a good hour. A "quiet hours" post would be helpful but the people who were staying there and probably had the entire house ()and a couple of "cheap rooms" in the barn area )were bigwig wealthy types so anything went. It's got a new major yoga studio so go figure on the quiet time aspect. $200.00 a night seems quite exorbitant for what we had. We've stayed in some really swell places for that amount of money; this wasn't one."
