"We travel a lot, but we never met such unpleasant hotel owners. We came to the hotel and said hello, but nobody answered. There was one girl at reception, but she looked like she does not see us. After a few minutes came other women, say no hello, and just asked for the passports. We put them to the reception desk and wait. She did not take our ID cards, she set at the computer and solved another passports and let us wait without any word. We were tired and wanted to go to the room so we asked for the keys. She gave us a room on the 3rd floor so we asked if there is a lift, she said there can not be a lift because it is a historic building. I understand why there is no lift, but don't understand why they are not helpful to bring the luggage to the room. The room smelled of cigarettes, was dusty, non-functional light in the corridor, and an offline fridge with a warm sect :-). The door to the shower was only for small people. When we asked if they have a room with a shower where my partner "fit in", we get no answer. We went for a walk and when we came back to the hotel the owners waited for us and told us that if we don't like it they give us the money back and we can find another accommodation. It was around 22:30! I thought when she started to talk that she wants to offer us another room. It would be a nice hotel after some innovation but with different management."

"We stayed in the hotel with a group that tracks in the Tatra area. Our experience was so bed from many aspects: As we arrived to the hotel we had to eat dinner. The hotel had the information about our arrival time but unfortunately the food in the dining room was not enough and the staff were in a hurry to illuminate the dinner. We ordered double bed room and when we entered the room we found that it is twin beds. It was a problem for others in the group. When we ask to get what we ordered the staff in the reception try to said it is what we ordered but we provide them - they are wrong. It is not helped us!! The room is small, the bathroom is terrible. It was a bed smell in the bathroom and the water licked all over when you take a shower. We asked to do something with the bed smell but we didn’t get any answer and non of the staff came to see the problem. When we come to the hotel we got 2 keys to the room. After a day we asked to get a key because we did not find one of it. At the beginning the lady in the reception that was very rude and grumpy said that my wife “was 5 minutes ago and asked for a key”. Of course it was her confusion because her negative approach from the beginning. My wife never been in the hotel reception. At the end when she understood she was wrong, she asked me to pay 10 €…….. When I asked to get a clean towel, I got the answer: “if you want a towel, come down to the reception…” My recommendation is not to choose this hotel."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Aplend Olivia Hotel and couldn’t have chosen a better place for our first visit to the Tatry. The hotel was spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and located in a perfect, quiet area of Starý Smokovec. Everything felt calm, safe, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was excellent — fresh, varied, and a lovely way to start the day. A special mention goes to the lovely lady at the hotel, who was incredibly kind, warm, and helpful. Her friendliness truly made us feel at home. The location is ideal: walking distance to Hrebienok, with fantastic hiking opportunities right on your doorstep, and skiing easily accessible near Nový Smokovec. There are also great local restaurants, small supermarkets close by, and the local people were incredibly friendly. If you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, cleanliness, a peaceful atmosphere, and an unbeatable location for exploring the Tatras, this hotel is a perfect choice. We would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area."

"Visited for a weekend and I left very satisfied. Props to the excellent staff and members of the hotel. Cutely designed with good prices and lot to offer during the day. I especially loved their wellness and restaurant. Will definitely visit once again when I’m in Kezmarok"
