"Firstly and the most important is Luca. Luca is the perfect host and a valuable asset to the Piccolo Hotel Villa Rosa. He helped in every way and 5 stars just simply aren't enough for him :) He is friendly, helpful and will assist you with any request you have from booking restaurants to good local knowledge of places to go in Puglia. 5+ Stars for Luca alone :) Secondly, the hotel, it shows its 2 star hotel rating. Unfortunately the beds are cheap and hard and extremely uncomfortable. The water pressure in the showers make the showers a drip, rather than a shower. The furniture is old and smells old, the wardrobe was so musty we didn't bother to unpack our clothes. But the rooms are extremely clean and cleaned thoroughly every day by Marie. The surroundings are amazing and only a short 2 min car drive to Ostuni. Hopefully the New owners will see the diamond in the rough they have got, because with only a small investment they could easily make this hotel a better repeat destination. Would I stay there again? Maybe not as long next time but it is fine for a night or two. My daughter named the hotel cat as it didn't have a name, so when you visit say hello to 'Cactus', she loves a bit of ham for breakfast by the way :)"

"This is a very special place. We were pleasantly surprised by how peaceful and pretty it was. We thought we were going to a hotel, but we got an amazing experience. It's a place we didn't want to leave. Our kids, 24 and 26, loved it so much they wanted a day just to hang out there, and spend time by the pool, which has plenty of space and shade. It was also a great central location to drive to other places for day trips, like Polignano a Mare, Monopoli and Ostuni. The food was great, as were the drinks. The service was stellar, with all the people there being friendly and helpful. It was very much like a resort. We hope to go back someday."
