Rather than walking across the pedestrianized Centro Storico, I could actually see Hotel Moderno across the Piazza. It is only a few minutes walk into the pedestrianized portion of the centro storico. My room was comfortable and as shown in photographs. The front reception staff was friendly and useful. Prima colazine was generous. As I am always looking for opportunities to improve my spoken Italian, I was given the chance to roam about a large Italian supermarket just a fgew blocks away. If I return to pvia , Hotel Moderno would be my choice for accomodation again"
