Lovely hotel, beautiful grounds. Feels like you're well outside Southampton but are only 15 mins away. (Daughter in Uni there)
Room was nice, we had exec but this isn't worth it to me. It only gives you a better coffee machine and we weren't in the room enough to use it. Save the £20.
No lifts so cases up to the third floor was a bit of a pain. If you're waiting for a ferry and have lots of cases then this could be an issue. We saw a few people struggle with this.
Breakfast was good, staff very friendly. We didn't eat there in the evening, burgers and chips sort of menu but the nearby pub, Chilworth Arms was really good.
The pool is great, small (16m) but very nice with jacuzzi, steam and sauna. Towels provided. Staff very friendly. Pool surrounding has quite slippery tiles though. Leisure facility is a bit away from the hotel, only 300 hundred meters from the hotel front but enough to need an umbrella if raining.
All in all, a good value pleasant hotel. Much cheaper than Leonardo's in Soton and still close to Uni etc.
Much as I like village Hotels I wish right across the country they would train bar staff to be more attentive
Because of the design of the bar they more often than not serve people approaching from reception when people have been waiting on the other side of the bar
First world problem but universally annoying
We stayed her the night before our cruise, the hotel is spotless, the rooms comfortable, there is an extensive carpark , choice of eating areas,. Breakfast was self service and had everything you could want. There is a large and I mean large Asda nearby .
The staff in the hotel are young and great .
Would we stay again … already on it to book next year
Fantastic hotel. Stayed for 2 nights business and 2 nights leisure for a friends wedding.
Hotel staff very accomadating! Amazing food! Try the pie! You won’t regret it!
Thanks for a great stay.
Ideal local with a short walk into the city centre.
Lovely staff and great hotel location for anyone that’s a bit more car centric.
Despite not using the on site facilities as much, the staff were lovely, friendly & helpful at any hour.
The room was spotlessly clean, and had decent basic amenities, but the room I stayed in was starting to look a little tired.
Decent value for money however, especially for the time of the year & a weekend.

ゲゲストBreakfast at the weekend doesn't start until 8.00am. We were playing a Pickleball Tournament on their Acrylic tennis courts and needed to digest our food before running around! The hot items weren't all out which was irritating. Bacon, sausages and eggs were missing. As soon as the eggs arrived they were gone because everyone was queuing. If it says breakfast starts at 8.00, then it should all be available on time! Pools are great, (one specifically for children and one for adults. Sporting facility was excellent. Free parking for hotel guests.
Bedroom was very clean and had everything one needed. No air con, but fan in cupboard. Magnifying mirror, iron & board, hairdryer.
I had to stay at the hotel to continue playing my tournament, but wanted to have a last swim to ease my muscles before driving home in a terrible heatwave. They said check out had been at 11.00am and I would have to pay £10! I thought that was rather steep so declined. There was hardly anyone in the pool and a small kind gesture after paying for 2 nights would have lifted my spirits and given a better impression. The pool was also only open from 8.00am. Far too late if people want a swim before breakfast.
Dogs seem to be allowed at the hotel in the bedrooms. 4 yapping dogs in one room is a bit much. Awful for the cleaners and I put the TV on to mask the noise!
Drinks and food quite expensive. Great Indian in the village!
It was great though being able to stay at the actual venue for the tournament. Cheaper through Trip com than the Tournament offer rate!

ゲゲストA repeat visit to Norton Park Spa Hotel. I really enjoy the peaceful location with beautiful grounds where you can walk through woodland or sit on a swing gazing out at the lake.
The spa is perfectly acceptable - no idea why some have left bad reviews. Great sauna and steam room, plus real ice pile and strong, cold (or hot) shower available close to these two facilities which is great extra. Pool is big enough to swim laps (not just a token effort) and there are couple of heated, tiled loungers pool side too. I treated myself to a treatment of back massage and full body exfoliation with oil application, which was absolutely wonderful. Relaxation room after the treatment was welcome touch. I have used spas across the world at top hotels and this was up there with the best.
Restaurant is really high quality, certainly above my expectations of British hotel catering. The breakfast buffet has everything you could require - although it is self-service on the tea/coffee which I'd rather have served to table - plus you can order extras for free, like poached eggs and porridge, which are then cooked to order. There are also some pay-for extras if required. Dinner was even more fantastic - have eaten there four times in two stays and cannot fault.
ゲゲストThe hotel is in a great, quiet location and it is a very beautiful building. The room was clean and pleasant, but it wasn't quite what I expected. Through Trip I thought I had booked one room up from the smallest option, but alas turns out I had not! The bed was also advertised as a standard double, it definitely is not in the smaller rooms, it is a small double, and this made sleeping for two a little uncomfortable. The room was also very hot even though we turned the radiator off and had the window open all night but I think this is just due to it being an older building, heat rises etc. The pool room really needs TLC. It is very overlooked and we felt really lets the hotel down. It's shame as it's a lovely space - even a quick lick of paint would bring it back to life if money doesn't allow for larger maintenance. Staff were all very friendly, especially the two we were served by in the restaurant for dinner. The food was okay but a little over priced but the service made up for that. All in all for a quick overnight stop it was fine.
