Former Porta Nova Hotel since 2017 completely remodeled. Free breakfast, free Sauna and Turkish bath, free indoor and outdoor pool makes this place a bargain if you can get reasonable rates (65€ we paid per night). Buffet dinner 29€/Person + drinks is overpriced (local restaurant dinner incl. drinks is 15-20€/Person)
Breakfast buffet has huge selection, made to order eggs and stuff is a real plus.
Parking (still) free (incl. the roadside). Very nice personell all over - high recommened for Tavira! I recomend ”Restraurante O Simao” in residential area
It was a bit difficult to find at first, Very clean, nice furniture, I meet the manageress she’s a nice polite lady and gives time for you as valued client, (this pays off) I tried to get an extra day a the special rate however she explained very well why it wasn’t possible at that monument, very quiet place this was one of my, only prob kitchen area light and a power outlet wasn’t working . I complained about no air flow at the gym and was offered to have a fan there which done., i
Hotel has great facilities and was very clean, though we were disappointed to realise that due to unsafe cliffs, it no longer offered direct access to the beach. Service should really be improved for such an expensive hotel:
1. Reception gave us 2 twin beds even though we specifically made a request at booking for double bed
2. Restaurants got my coffee orders wrong on multiple occasions throughout the stay
3. During the saturday bbq night, the hostess Priscilla made up a poor excuse not to give us a poolside table even though we were one of the earliest guests there. Her excuse was the remaining poolside tables were reserved for 4 families with dogs. We didn't see a single dog during the entire course of 2 hours, and the tables were given away to other couples for reasons unknown. This incident really upset us, and the fact that she had the audacity to make up such an excuse is appalling.
4. Gratuity was charged at 7.5% for every item, which is fine but what left a bad taste in the mouth is the hotel did it without informing customers upfront.
Pro: Hotel Alba was very clean, the staff at breakfast were very hard working, if a plate was empty on the table, they would remove it straight away. Check in wasn't until 4pm which is a little late than usual but our room was ready by 3pm so we were allowed to go in a bit earlier. The room was a lovely size, plenty of space, comfortable bed and very good shower. Breakfast was very good - pastries/fruit and a little cooked breakfast - buffet style. Plenty of beds and umbrellas around the pool.
Con: The reception staff not very friendly and the 'bar' (which is just an array of alcohol bottles on the back shelf of reception) not great. Missing a trick here to not have a few more comfortable chairs/umbrellas around the top end of swimming pool and a 'mobile' bar and maybe serve snacks/toasties etc.
Excellent hotel and service. The view from the hotel of the sea and the beach is fantastic. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset from the hotel room. However, the room and the facilities are quite dated and showing it's age.
Great location but hotel is very dated & our room was even worse. Apparently they are renovating the hotel but sadly hadn’t reached the floor level we were on, 7th. An upgrade to a nice, newly renovated room would’ve been much appreciated but it didn’t happen. Not very good management skills really.
A fabulous hotel which lived up to expectations.
The room was lovely with a huge bed, free safe, bottle of water on arrival and pool towels.
My room was on the road side but it didn't bother me and I requested a high floor which was fulfilled. It got the afternoon sun and was a sun trap.
Breakfast was buffet style with a great selection of hot and cold foods, plenty of different breads and cakes
The location is great, close to loads of bars, restaurants, supermarkets, and a few minutes from bus stops if you want to pop into Albufeira old town.
I would definitely return to the hotel without hesitation.

SSbj66Decent Stay, but Could Be Better for a 4-Star Hotel
The Good:
• Location: The hotel is in a great spot—just an 8-minute walk from train Station and only 10 minutes by taxi to the airport, making it very convenient for travelers.
• Breakfast: One of the best parts of our stay! A great selection of food, and the addition of a piano playing in the background made for a lovely atmosphere.
The Not-So-Good:
• Bathroom Issues: Unfortunately, the bathroom had a bad smell, which we believe was caused by water collecting under the floor for a long time. The shower design was also frustrating, as water would leak out onto the bathroom and toilet floors. Additionally, the ventilation fan didn’t seem to work well, which made the smell worse.
• Construction Noise: This was a major issue. There was loud construction work from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., making it nearly impossible to relax in the hotel during the day.
• The overall entrance to the hotel didn’t feel like a typical hotel—it was busy and had a commercial feel, more like entering a shop or mall.
We’d rate it 3/5. While the location and breakfast were great, the bathroom issues, construction noise, made it feel below 4-star standards. With better maintenance and some upgrades, this hotel could be much better!

ゲゲストAlbergo di buon livello, ma prezzo superiore alla media. Un po' fuori dal centro, però ha ristorante, dove ho fatto un'ottima cena di pesce, a prezzo ragionevole.
SShermin.03Me and my sister stayed here and all I can say is don’t hesitate ,book this place and you won’t be disappointed.lovely staff and clean and refreshing room. Very cute local cafe across the hotel and very convenient location.
ゲゲストWe booked a resort view with a balcony got a ground floor with decking. The bedroom was a bit strange, the bathroom had a glass wall at the shower with a curtain in the bedroom covering it????? Cleaning of the room daily was very late could be as late as 3 or 4 pm in the day. We booked all inclusive, the food was amazing and there was always seemed to be food available. Buffet dinner was the best option. The drink selection was varied and non stop, all bars closed by 12 pm. Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. Rooftop bar, pool bar and restaurant staff were friendly, but found a few of the staff in the main bar were unfriendly. I would fully recommend this hotel and are thinking of booking it again for next year.
