"Perfect location in Ascona. We had a good sized room with a lovely view of the lake and promenade. Each floor has a different colour theme we were on the top floor which was red. Breakfast was very good with amongst other things freshly squeezed orange juice and eggs made to order. The restaurant was busy and staff attentive. We really enjoyed our five night stay and will return to Albergo Carcani on our next visit to Ascona"

"The hotel is high on Monte Verita; the view is really beautiful. The quiet location is great. The tea garden is also worth seeing. Unfortunately, at arrival we were not informed or instructed where the breakfast room was. It was not a nice reception. The information flowed more than delicate. The thin info film in the room is not complete. We could take our dog with; that was already positive. However, we received nothing for the dogs' pause; no water in the room, no dog bed, no welcome goods. On Saturday, a wedding society was found. Nothing negative, just that we did not find a parking place when we returned from dinner. There would the hotel guests have to find at least a reserved parking place? On Sunday, at beautiful weather, the table was covered for breakfast. Without questioning whether this would be OK for us... Generally unfriendly staff. The rooms without balcony with original building furniture and lamps. The bathroom is very uncomfortable. To shower you need to go practically over the toilet to get into the bathtub. The window cannot be opened. The furnace, from the last century, is also expected to be accualized. All in all simply lacks a quantine style and enthusiasm."

"To tell it immediately: I liked the one-week stay in the Ascona Lodge and I can recommend this accommodation in full! By the central and still quiet location – in a quiet side street next to the school sports place – you are walking within a few minutes' walk from the beautiful Ascona walk. The hotel was apparently completely restored just recently - and it was very beautiful, modern, thoughtful and worthy. I had a bright DZ in 2. OG to the south with small balcony and small bathroom – from size enough and tastefully furnished. I particularly liked the public spaces in the ground floor – the large kitchen in which the morning buffet is built and the seats in the style of a lounge in which you can take breakfast. The organization of breakfast is thought up to in small details, the food offered of quality and selection excellent - including very delicious sauce and cheese specialities, very delicious bread and bread varieties, Several yoghurts and orange juice that you can press yourself freshly. Another point: until 17:00, you can make free coffee specialities in the lounge. The staff is very friendly, premature and helpful, for example, with questions about business in the beautiful landscape. It is also highlighted the free bike rental of tour bikes - I used – or cheaply to borrow e-bikes every day. There is also a small garden with sufficient bed and small, heated pool. Conclude: I enjoyed the stay in the Ascona Lodge and I will certainly come back!"

"Superb rustic hotel, direct view of the lake, with a panoramic terrace and a small interior terrace, the room was spacious and very clean. Nothing to say about the absolutely charming and helpful staff. Lots of restaurants nearby, no need to use your car (hotel parking) and use of Ticino transport. Two small downsides are the swimming pool which is still a 10-minute walk away under the blazing sun! And it would be good to mention that from a certain time there is no more room service! We highly recommend it!"

"This is a gorgeous more modern resort hotel with service that is exactly what a luxury resort should be in a beautiful location. We enjoyed our stay immensely even though it rained during most of our time in Ascona. The promenade and shopping area of the small town of Ascona is lovely and an easy walk from the hotel. From the complimentary private pickup from the Locarno train station which we arranged in advance, to the drive to the ferry dock for our next stop, the service was flawless. The room was beautiful, with plenty of space to unpack and store things with all the modern conveniences. The bathroom was large with one of the best showers ever. The only tiny hiccup were the door locks which can be rather tricky until you get the knack, but we were told that they will be changing that this winter. They have numerous restaurant choices and we ate at three of the four choices. The Marina, was very good. The Cassetta, which we reserved had to close because it was outdoor dining and raining, and we were immediately informed by the staff and given other options. The two Michelin star La Brezza restaurant was very special, and a most enjoyable evening with magnificent food. The chef who came out to speak with us was delightful as was everyone we spoke with. One of our top two meals we have ever had and worth the high cost. Our least favorite was the Eden Roc restaurant, but that had a superb salad bar, and was where the excellent breakfast buffet was served in the morning. The bar area both indoors and outdoors was centrally located and a wonderful place to relax, often with a piano player and one who was a delightful vocalist. There were many sitting areas throughout the resort which also worked very well for us because of the weather. The indoor outdoor pool with jacuzzi area was great. This is a fine case of you get what you pay for, and although the cost is high, we had no complaints and enjoyed our time there. We recommend."
