"Relais and Chateaux Very expensive for what it is. Odd and chaotic mix of interior design. The staff wear odd poor quality black suits, which are scruffy. The gardener was determined to chemically spray and hose the terrace we were sitting on - whilst having lunch. So we left the terrace. Strange loud tinitus kind of noise coming from a maintenance cupboard next to our room. Asked a receptionist, she came and had a look and said the problem was the air conditioning in our room causing the noise, and really it just had to be tolerated, there was nothing they could do. Our room was huge, gorgeous Terrace with a beautiful view, Gorgeous bathroom (shower gel fixed to shower wall so if you want bubbles you have to get it from there - nothing by the bath itself) Comfortable big bed and decent pillows. But very heavy masculine dark decoration and chunky dated furniture. We had a side room but didn't use it as it looked a little like a furniture storage area rather than a usable space. At dinner in the delightful garden restaurant (with a few garish 'art' installations) a man came and just stood by our table. Turns out he was the owner, but he didn't introduce himself, we had to ask him who he was. A little bit arrogant...then he told us how 3 generations had founded and run the place (all male which explains 3 generations of bachelor pad memorabilia, furniture and art in the place). Then he pretty much walked off. It was a very perfunctory act. His Girlfriend however was delightful. The garden restaurant staff outfits look so much more in keeping than the the black funeral suits - white shirts, chinos. Nice. Don't make the staff wear the straw hats if they don't want to.... When we were swimming the following day, just us, (lovely little pool). Back comes the gardener who cleaned the filters and pops in the pool cleaning hoses and all its pipes whilst we were IN the pool, popped his ciggy back on his bottom lip then drove off on his little tractor. Coffee at breakfast - they didn't have any cows milk (despite being in a region famed for its cattle). Scrabbled eggs in the morning came in a bowl and I think they must have blended them before serving to get such a soup like texture We didn't venture near the Michelin star restaurant. Whole place Bizarre. It was like Fawlty Towers! Would not enjoy a re-visit."

"Lovely hotel right in the center. Perfect as a layover. Parking and restaurants nearby. Rooms are cozy and adequate. Nicely appointed and the art deco vibe makes it stand out. Comfy beds are a big plus! Evening staff and morning staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was perfect."

"2025 年 7 月のフランス海外アドベンチャー トラベル ツアーの一環として、このシャトーを訪れました。そこに着くまで、シャトー ド モンタウトルに行くとは知りませんでした。なんて嬉しい驚きでしょう!オーナーのセルジュラカゼはいつも紳士で、素晴らしいホストでした。プールで泳ぎ、シャンパンを楽しんだ後、ワインと素晴らしい会話で楽しい夕食を楽しみました。私たちは設備の整った部屋に滞在し、素敵な朝食をとった後、翌朝出発しました。 Sergeは常に利用可能で、邪魔されずに有益でした。シャトーのツアーは楽しかったです。過去数年間の彼の改修は、彼の愛の労働を示しています。"
