"I have been visiting this pub on and off for around 40 years and staying there about once a year for the last 15. It has always been the source of great memories over these years and our last stay was no exception. There are 13 in our family aged from 4 to 62 and I wanted a pub where we could all be together that was somewhere on the western edge of the Moor. The Fox & Hounds was a great choice in terms of good food, drink (Jail Ale), accommodation, and location. All this topped by an excellent welcome from Crystal and her team, who really looked after us throughout the weekend. Sure, it wasn't posh, but then again, neither are we. Five stars awarded with no reservation."

"Had a birthday lunch here to celebrate. Such a beautiful place with a friendly vibe. Staff extremely friendly and knowledgable about the building's story. The garden is really looking lovely. The food was lovely with a really good choice and the drinks menu was great. I recommend the non-alcoholic G & T which was perfect for the baking hot day. A very elegant place but not pretentious."

"A brilliant hotel. A really pleasant location, and a very picturesque building. We stayed for one night in August. The room was very nice, not modern, but definitely in keeping with the hotel itself. Very comfortable bed, and a nice, clean bathroom. We had dinner at the hotel, and a varied menu was available. The food was delicious, and reasonably priced. The staff were all excellent, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast menu was not as expansive as some hotels, but the full English was of a very high quality. We had a great stay, and will definitely return."

"Not as good as remembered from previous stay hotel wise but bar restaurant good and believe a lot of the reviews that are very mixed do cover most points as there are still some lovely elements but a few points from me if I may! Beautiful location and surroundings and due to its age you will expect low ceilings quirky layout and a bit of a chill in parts especially this time of year However I agree that if it is cold and heating should be able to be controlled in rooms which are large and in the dark in our room 4 quite treacherous to move from bedroom to bathroom! Luckily we had a spare bed so our daughter could have an extra duvet from other bed but it was chilly in night as well as no tv in one end of room so had daughter in with us for bit to watch! She seemed miles away ! If you are looking for a lie in then not the best place as you can hear talking in other rooms, also every move made and the plumbing is so loud we likened to an aircraft taking off ! Bar and restaurant staff lovely and food we chose was really good - met chef who was very nice as well! Would probably prefer to eat in bar as more cosy Finally found out breakfast changed to very minimal cereal fruit and yoghurt which was a shame so didn’t bother as prefer cooked! Overall we had a lovely evening with family but the rooms not as good considering paid £170 with no breakfast - it would be better in summer but maybe even more!"

"ツー キャッスル トレイルを歩くと、ブルー ライオンに一泊しました。それは私の心を勝ち取りました。まず、パブは現在、日中は村の店として倍増しており、コミュニティで真にその役割を果たしています。これは、そこに滞在するか、通り過ぎるかにかかわらず、物資を購入するのに便利な場所でもあります。必要に応じて外に座って喜んで1時間早く到着しました。しかし、当時起こったことすべてにもかかわらず、私は部屋に案内され、落ち着くことができました。私の部屋は素晴らしかった。特に快適なベッド。素敵で明るい。広としたバスルーム。とてもきれい。騒がしいと思っていたので、道路の前に少し心配でしたが、そうではなく、交通に邪魔されませんでした。夕方、パブで食べました。私は特別なボードに非常に驚いた、それはほとんどのパブの予想される運賃ではなく、いくつかのあまり一般的なアイテムを持っています。バーの雰囲気は素晴らしく、村から飛び込んでくる人は、一般的な親しみやすさ、すべてが歓迎されるようにされているという明確な感覚でした。私も朝に朝食を食べました(含まれていません)-セルフサービスの基本的な朝食、実際には非常に便利でした。それから、手配したように、私はただ自分自身を出て行くことができました。もう1つのポイントはお金の価値でした。絶対に素晴らしい価値。コミュニティの感覚を持ちたい真の地元のビジネスqneをサポートしたい人には、Blue Lionをお勧めします。間違いなく散歩に沿って私のお気に入りの滞在。"

"We are fortunate enough to live within walking distance of this hotel, restaurant and pub. We have just returned from yet another meal and, as always, the staff, the food, the drink and the welcome was superb. The cheese souffle draws us back repeatedly!
