"We had such a lovely stay at Dolphins Beach Resort and honestly wish we’d booked more than one night. It’s the kind of place you immediately want to slow down in. The safari-style tents are way more than glamping — they’re big, super comfortable, and have proper bathrooms, air con, and everything you need. The whole place is really nicely designed, with lots of cool little details (like shells instead of taps), and the tents are spaced out so it feels calm and private. The grounds are beautiful. The pool area is great, the beach was clean and quiet, and everything just felt relaxed and easy. We only ate the Sri Lankan food and it was excellent — fresh, tasty, and really well cooked. All the staff were so kind and helpful, and the owner was a lovely gentleman and really helpful with guidance and advice - or for a general chat….You could tell he just wanted everyone to have the best experience possible. The dolphin watching was such a highlight — amazing value and absolutely incredible. We saw hundreds of dolphins. You really feel close to nature here in the best way — we loved seeing frogs and little geckos around the grounds. It just added to the whole experience. Overall, we loved it and would 100% go back… next time for much longer!"

"I wanted to write to you following our recent two week stay at De Silva Wind Resort Kalpitiya. We arrived very early in the morning and received a warm welcome from your staff. They had put out a lovely breakfast for us and we immediately felt at home. We settled in to one of the lovely bungalows and were very quickly known by name by your team. Nothing was too much trouble. The “beach” team spent time with us making sure we had the correct Wingfoil and Kite surf equipment, and even though I was just renting the equipment they could not have helped me more. Halfway through our stay, my wife suffered a nasty accident causing severe bruising to her face and left side of her body. This required a doctors visit and a subsequent Xray at the hospital. This is one of the worries for many people travelling to other countries, especially when they stay away from cities. Well they need not worry if they are staying with you! The entire team at De Silva looked after us so well. We did not feel isolated at all. We were driven to the doctors, medication was ordered and collected, ice packs were constantly provided and care and compassion was abundant. When it was clear that there was no lasting damage to my wife, she insisted that I continued with my sport. On my return from the beach I found that your staff had regularly checked on her, sitting and talking with her for long periods of time. She felt not only looked after but had a lovely time. Based on our first week, I would have put very positive reviews online praising your resort and staff. Due to the accident I felt it needed more as the care was excellent. I cannot thank you and your team enough, if it wasn’t for you, the trauma would have been too much and our holiday would have been spoiled. My wife is now recovering well and we are looking forward to our next trip to Sri Lanka. I wish you and all of your team well and thank you, thank you, thank you. Iain"

"Very pretty little resort nestled on the edge of a lagoon. The decoration of the rooms is very neat, simple and tasteful. The bathroom is semi-open and equally beautifully decorated. Pleasant terrace with a view of the lagoon where the sunsets are magnificent. The hotel provides canoes to cross the lagoon and reach a magnificent beach where there was literally no one. Popular place for kitesurfers. The swimming pool is also very beautiful and pleasant as well as the lounge. Good meals served in the restaurant or on the terrace. A feeling of the end of the world! Calm and serenity. Great Ayurvedic massage. A place where you want to come back."

"A lovely new build hotel with a great big bed, clean lovely bedding and a lovely shower. The pool is small but nice. The staff were friendly but not around. I think because it’s low season things were quiet. We were expecting a pool bar, food and a staff presence. But we were told to go up the road for food and beer, which was a shame as after 4 weeks travelling independently around Sri Lanka we hadn’t experienced this. The price was high compared to anything else we’d paid and we got less. The room wasn’t cleaned because apparently you have to ask. Yet breakfast was provided without us asking so we assumed it was included. Upon check out I was hit with two huge breakfast bills, which I refused to pay. Over the road there is a lovely supermarket to buy your room provisions, a wine shop a short tuktuk journey away and three beautiful seafood restaurants just a short walk away. We had a nice two days by the pool at the end of our holiday. Be careful they don’t rip you off but the room was good x"
