"A beautiful authentic 500 year old hotel. We stayed 3 nights to attend a family funeral. Refreshments were served afterwards at the hotel. Cherie, the wonderful owner looked after us very well, the spread included a selection of sandwiches and delicious homemade cakes and scones. A great breakfast buffet including a full English breakfast that would set you up for the day! The bed was very comfortable, a modern shower - spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cherie is a fantastic host, nothing was too much trouble. She gave us a lovely warm welcome together with her dear old doggies."

Also very good to have free parking right in the town centre. Felt very trendy and a good vibe also. Rm 11 I would recommend."

"The Corner House Hotel was an excellent choice to visit central Taunton, with it being 10 minutes easy walk to the Creative Innovation Centre and High Street. A lovely informal atmosphere and great decor , almost like a highland lodge. I stayed in a single room which met my needs entirely. The room was snug and inviting , and spotless. The shower worked well. The breakfast was excellent and very comprehensive . Just what was needed after a gig the night before. The car park was absolutely fine for a normal size car. Early check-in at £10 was a bargain ( I checked in before midday ). The service at reception and in the restaurant were excellent . Frankly , the only negative I can think of is the late night traffic noise on a Saturday evening . I had my window fully open , so it probably would not be an issue for most of the year , and to be fair it has to be expected in a town centre location. The hotel does have more than a few stairs. This is quite normal in a gothic style property . Request a low floor room if this is an issue for you. I enjoyed the exercise ! Summary - If you want a decent hotel with a great breakfast , excellent service , parking and the ability to walk to the centre , then this is a brilliant value place to stay."

"This place was amazing. Me and my other half just fancied a night somewhere in the countryside with great food. The Notley didn't disappoint. Simon and Caroline were fantastic hosts. The food is divine and I even had a glass of champagne for no reason. Very relaxed and lots of space to chill by the fire. The outside looks even better when it finally stops raining we might find out. Highly recommended. If they get themselves on the social media it would be constantly booked up undoubtedly "

"Not recomended On arrival the outside impresion was poor not clean tatty paint with similar apearance inside.the room booked was an en suite double the room was generally ok.warm decorated ok.no desk or chairs and the bathroom un connected and down the hall ! And very cold with no heater.evening meal average with only just warm soup returning to my room for a rest after working all day i was confronted with a rock group practising below very loudly for 2 hours unaceptable for a £70 + £12 breakfast room.not suprising people ditch these places in favour of premier inns and there type the place needs a refurb in public areas and heating.breakfast was ok.coffee poor restaurant cold.staff dont seem to bother very much "

"Unpretentious and welcoming local pub. Mine Host Patrick is friendly and spares the time for a chat. Charlton and Dartford FC fans are especially welcome ! Beer garden is lovely in the summer months. The food is generally basic but very tasty. Overal this is an excellent pub well worth visiting."

"We came in for Sunday lunch for my Auntie’s birthday last week. We were a large table with various dietary requirements so not the easiest customers! However, the service from Poppy was absolutely amazing! She was friendly, attentive, nothing was too much trouble, she made us feel so welcome and is a credit to the team there! Great staff, great food, would definitely recommend! Thank you!"

"I love an English occupier run B&B and Greenham Hall did not disappoint. The welcome was so warm, the property is stunning, beds comfy, rooms spacious, curtains when closed block out the light. Breakfast was delicious, especially the home made damson jam. We enjoyed the fresh coffee and orange juice. The hostess Caro gives a very warm welcome and was very hospitable, flexible and also an interesting and accomplished woman. It is also very reasonably priced. We would love to return when we are next in the area."
