"We came into the hotel at 8pm on the 12th of June after a long days drive (mumbai - jodhpur flight and jodhpur - Mount abu drive). On reaching the hotel, we were warmly greeted by Mr Ajay and his team of Naeem and colleagues. We were escorted to our room and even helped with keeping our baggage at spots We wanted to have them kept at. I must also mention that there was a table and a chair in the room and we asked them to remove the same and without a word and with a smile on their face they did this. We went down to their outdoor garden where they have live music singing as well as a magic show for dinner. I would like to point out here (without any disrespect to anyone) that we didn't know till the time that we got to the hotel, that this is a pure vegetarian hotel. We being non vegetarians were a bit disappointed but...their vegetarian food is outstanding and can be eaten again and again. The next morning I met Mr khanna (GM of the hotel) and Mr John (head of F&B). Both men are men of few words and give you 110% action in their services. They say that a hotel is only as good as it's manager and his team and here...this hotel goes out of their way to make the customer feel at home and well looked after. I must also make special mention of the dining staff at this hotel who would assist you with all the food that was out at breakfast and they would tell me how to go about eating a certain dish (Rajasthani or gujrati breakfast) that i had not eaten before and their warmth again was fantastic. All in all, team Hotel Hillock, thanks a ton for the super hospitality and stay at your hotel and hopefully will be back soon to stay again at your beautiful premise. Thank you. "This property could be far better than it is now. Basically it’s living off its past glory, so the staff is bureaucratic, we came after a long drive from Ahmedabad and the staff almost felt like it was interrogating us at reception. The basic rooms are bad, no views and feel like dorm rooms with their prosaic architecture, the more expensive rooms are better but then you have to shell out a lot more which in my opinion is not worth it. Food is alright, the hospitality seems a little tired and longs for fresh energy and warmth. Wouldn’t recommend the place, neighboring Bikaner House is far better value for money. The only advantage here is the location right next to the lake."

"When you choose an old palace as a hotel, you should expect large rooms, a slightly outdated decor and equipment that may be a little 'dated'. And, on this side, at the Palace Hotel, we are not disappointed: huge lounge, large rooms, endless corridors,... But also the possibility of seeing up close what a real maharajah's palace was. ...and to dream a little....The staff is very friendly and does their best. Be careful of the freshness which can be surprising: we are at 1200m altitude and, compared to the plain, this means 10° less at least...The room (and especially the bathroom) can be cool, but a electric radiator is provided...."
