"Room was a little small, no wardrobe, vert little hanging space, no tv.. Difficult to regulate the temperature, and it was necessary to open the window during the night. No other option for dinner than their buffet, which had a huge choice of foods but was very expensive - the nearest restaurant was 45 minutes to drive. Their website claimed extensive hiking possibilities, but the staff had no idea about this, and it turned out that there are no marked hiking trails anywhere near the hotel or off old Stryn road. Some days there are bus groups, and dinner and breakfast become a feeding frenzy."

"There was a problem with Trip.com and although the accommodation was fully paid, Hjelle Hotel did not receive any confirmation. However the hotel owner did a super job to rearrange for alternative accommodation. And went the extra mile to invite us to their buffet dinner. So full marks to Hjelle Hotel. Trip.com however did a terrible job to just sent me a note of the problem on the day of our planned arrival. All they offered was a notice and a refund. Think about it Trip.com - what do you expect your client to do while on the road and during peak summer season? How do I book an alternative accommodation last minute and failing which what happens?"

"We had a lovely comfortable room overlooking the pool and fjord. Breakfast was excellent but as we did not eat in the hotel in the evening we were made to feel a little like second class guests and sat in different places where others had an allocated table. The restaurant offers buffet or multiple course à la carte so we chose to eat elsewhere."
