"夫と私は、クマオンで深く栄養価が高く、思い出に残る3泊の滞在をしました。ホテルは、広としたオープンヒマラヤの景色を望む丘の中に隠れています。ある朝、私たちは雲の上から目を覚まし、ベッドから直接霧の柔らかい海に山が浮かぶのを見ました。落ち着いた雰囲気で、親密で人里離れた雰囲気で、日常生活のニーズからゆっくりと休んで、静かにリセットするのに理想的な場所です。自然でヘルシーで、新鮮な地元の食材で作られ、軽くて美味しいと感じました。また、クマオンを際立たせるのは、チームの温かさとケア、特に、医療上の懸念があった夜中に病院に同行しても構わないと思っていたGMのアビナフです。滞在中にマッサージも受けましたが、それは素晴らしく、リラクゼーションの別の層を追加しました。もう一つの特別な側面は、この地域の微妙だが強い精神的でエネルギッシュな感じです。カサルデヴィやジャゲシュワルなどの近くの寺院を訪れることで、滞在全体に明らかに高い‑振動、熟考の質を与えました。景色、健康的な食べ物、スタッフの優しさと迅速さ、そして静かで神聖な雰囲気で、クマオンはホテルのように感じず、喜んで戻る小さな山の聖域のように感じました。"

"I first visited Kasar Rainbow Yoga Retreat two years ago, and it left a deep, lasting impact on me. Perhaps the credit goes to the serene, almost mystical vibe of Kasar Devi itself—beautifully blended with the retreat’s cosy, comfortable, and homely atmosphere. It’s a place that respects your privacy while still making you feel genuinely cared for. What truly sets this retreat apart is the warmth of the people. My interactions with the staff—Mr. Pandey, Mr. Puran, Mr. Shivraj, and especially the pillar of the place, Mr. Kamal—were always cordial and heartfelt. And of course, a special mention to its owner, Sarvajeet Singh Mehra, fondly known as Sabu, whose vision and presence give the retreat its soul. Since that first visit, Kasar Rainbow Yoga Retreat has become an annual ritual for me. I make it a point to spend at least a month here every year—to rejuvenate my soul, reconnect with myself, and truly centre my chi. Very few people are fortunate enough to find a place that resonates with them on such a deep level. I consider myself one of those lucky few. Dunagiri Retreat
"We heard of Dunagiri Retreat Centre through a friend. Since it is close to a spiritual place of interest for us, Mahavatar Babaji’s cave, we decided to book it for 5 days / 4 nights during the month of August. We paid 16,000 INR + 18% GST (around 200 EUR) PER NIGHT for 2 adults and 2 children, inclusive of all meals. Turns out this was VASTLY overpriced compared to the experience we got, and once you get there, you are stuck. This place is popular with foreigners, many of whom have not experienced proper Indian hospitality before, may not fully understand how much things should cost in India, and some don’t even realise how much they are paying for the retreat, as they book it as part of a bigger package. The reality is that the owner Mr. Piyush Kumar appears to be focused on extracting money from guests and cutting corners wherever he can. Firstly, we were assured by the owner that we will be able to enjoy the peace and serenity of the retreat space. This was particularly important for us because we went there to rest, meditate, breathe fresh air, do yoga, etc., and didn’t spend a lot of time outside the retreat as it was rainy season. In reality, the retreat centre has massive construction going on. This meant we had no peace or quiet, with sounds of machines and hammers starting at 8am until the evening. The yoga room in the retreat centre was full of dust and not usable. Secondly, the food was at best a major disappointment, at worst an outright scam. We enjoy simple vegetarian food, but the amount and choices of food were not consistent with the high price we paid. In all meals there were no alternative choices and many times the kitchen cooked EXACTLY the same food as the day before. The portions of vegetables were ridiculously small for 4 guests. It really felt we were either at a prison, or at a weight loss retreat. On requesting more food, we were shocked to hear from the kitchen staff that the owner had ordered less vegetables and that they didn’t even have enough for themselves. Thirdly, the service levels are HIGHLY inconsistent with paying 200 Euros per night. The owner left the property on the second day, leaving us with two kitchen staff, who said they didn’t know much as they had only been employed for a few months. The rooms were not cleaned on some days and we had to chase for clean towels and more toilet paper. The electricity kept going on and off on one of the days, we understand this happens in India sometimes but there was a large generator at the retreat that the staff didn’t know how to operate. As a result we were sitting for hours with no electricity, for no reason. The staff seemed nice but helpless under the instructions they had been given. They didn’t seem to know where things were and when we asked for a hair dryer to dry our shoes, we were given a heater that wasn’t working properly.
