「Excellent service. Lots of friendly, helpful staff. Choice of menu options for both breakfast and dinner extensive and a la carte. Evening entertainment was a piano soloist and really lovely. Classic bedroom choice was very comfortable. The classic choice of room decor is slightly worn and facilities outdated but non the less charming.」

Our apartment is in the best location in Ventnor, only about 50 meters to the family friendly beach and only a 5 minute walk to town.Inspired by our love of the sea, the apartment is decorated with lovely coastal themes and is equipped with kitchen, lounge, dining room, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We provide full cooking facilities, TV, DVD player, central heating, plus white bed linen and fluffy towels. We can also provide a travel cot, bed guard and high chair for those with young children.We have a free private parking space, laundry facilities, books and games and access to storage for bikes or kayaks in our secure garage.Located in the victorian coastal town of Ventnor on the Isle of Wight, Ventnor is famous for its warm, sunny, mediterranean style microclimate with many tropical plants, as it enjoys more sunshine hours than anywhere else in the UK. With its family friendly beach, lined with pretty victorian beach huts and fantastic coastal scenery, it is perfect for families or couples and often attracts walkers, writers and artists who come in search of unspoilt views. Its quirky mix of small vintage shops and many popular pubs and restaurants offer something for everyone.Perfect for a short break or a family holiday, this apartment will sleep 4 adults and 3 children. The Byre, which forms part of Southdown Dairy, has an enviable position nestled into Southdown, Chale, enjoying uninterrupted sea views to the Needles and Tennyson Down.
The two bedroom cottage has been loving restored with your comfort in mind for you to have a relaxing stay whilst enjoying the stunning peaceful, rural location in an AONB which forms the Heritage coast in South Wight, also known as Back of the Wight.
The Byre is accessed directly from the lane, up a flight of eleven steps onto the private terrace, and then down four steps to your front door which leads you into the lobby. To the right is the kitchen and on the left is the downstairs bedroom with a superking bed (or two twins) and an ensuite shower room. A double bedroom with a kingsize bed shares the first floor with a family bathroom with bath and shower. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped and has a large table so dining together is comfortable and relaxing. The lounge is also spacious with a Smart 49” freesat LG television, comfy seating and soft lighting makes for a cosy night in. From the first floor bedroom, lounge, kitchen and terrace you will enjoy uninterrupted views (there are a few ponies) towards Tennyson Down and its white cliffs, the Needles and the coast from Whale Chine along to Compton and Freshwater Bay. The private terrace catches the morning sun for breakfast and is perfect to have dinner and watch the amazing sunsets over The Needles. There is offroad parking for 2 cars and plenty of secure storage for bikes. The cottage has been finished to a very high standard, including fast Wi-Fi internet connection whilst in a comfortable cottage in a beautiful setting.
The coastal path and numerous country paths are right on the doorstep, along with the round the island cycle route which passes in front of the cottage. Blackgang Chine, the oldest theme park in Europe dating back to 1800, is a 5 minute drive away, The Wight Mouse pub is a 20 minute walk across the fields, has a huge garden overlooking the sea and serves food all day. With the famous Military Road at the end of the Lane it is a superb location to explore the whole Island and the numerous walking routes, cycle ways, attractions and beaches including those on the south of the Island; Compton Beach, which is a must for surfers, Brook Beach and Freshwater Bay and of course the rest of the Island; including Shanklin and Sandown only a 20 minute drive away and the same for, Alum Bay (The Needles), Colwell (home to The Hut) and Yarmouth, the furthest towns are Cowes and Ryde and they are only a 30 minute drive, nowhere is far on the Island. There are plenty of fabulous pubs, restaurants and cafe's either overlooking the sea, nestled in the countryside or in one of the many quaint villages which are home to thatched cottages and stone buildings.

Bermuda House is a Victorian villa steeped in history and right in the centre of Ventnor on the south coast of the Isle of Wight. Look out of the windows and there are outstanding sea views from the front and downland views from the rear. Plus there are all the mod cons that you’d expect for a family holiday in the twenty-first century.
The house is perfect for a family gathering, for a friends’ walking weekend or for intergenerational holidays. Parents can enjoy the walks straight from the door, grandparents will be amazed by Ventnor’s quirky independent shops, young children will enjoy the beach and teens can take the adrenaline zone challenge, learn to surf or make use of the house's full-fibre WiFi.
The villa is situated centrally in Alexandra Gardens, one of the best known streets in this charming coastal town. The harbour and the award-winning sandy beach of Ventnor Bay are a couple of minutes walk away, and the shops are even closer. Within ten minutes’ walk there are numerous places to eat and drink. Outside is a private road with exclusive parking for two medium-sized cars and there is a private fully enclosed cliff-top grassed garden with a tropical tree.
Many Victorian features have been restored and the house sleeps up to ten people in five bedrooms. A well-equipped massive front to back kitchen diner is an outstanding feature of the building and there are two big living rooms with large screen satellite TVs. There is solid wood flooring on the upper three floors, and the house is decorated and furnished in a contemporary but sympathetic style.
The property has high ceilings with chandeliers, fine cornicing and ceiling roses and a lovely carved staircase. It was built around 1883 on the site of Ventnor Mill. A blue plaque commemorates Sir Edward and Alice Elgar spending their honeymoon on the first floor of this house in May 1889. From the house Sir Edward wrote to a friend “We are liking this place very much and have nice rooms overlooking the sea…”
