"We went deep sea fishing earlier in the day and brought our fish to Clarita's to include with our meal. We were offered to cook all our fish, served with rice, beans and plantain. The cost was $20.00 each for the three of us. The price seemed high, but we were hungry and the beach atmosphere at sunset was wonderful. Our meal came rapidly, and the service was efficient and friendly. Unfortunately, they kept half of our fish and substituted a cheaper, deep-fried, boney fish (Pargo) for our beautifully prepared, bone and skin-free, grouper fillets. When I complained that they did not serve our fish to us, I got the "I'm caught but will pretend I don't understand" look. I kick myself for not being able to adequately converse in Spanish. In short, I suggest going somewhere else if you have your own fish to prepare. Additionally, if honesty is important to you, I would avoid this business. There are numerous other restaurants that more deserve your tourist dollars."

"On our tour across Costa Rica, this was far the worst hotel. It's all very familiar and it seems that the owners have no interest in it. The rooms are large but not very clean, the electricity does not look safe, an old kitchen line is re-functioned as a closet. The refrigerator is available only on demand for extra money (if it was repaired by the gardener because it is 30 years old) just like the safe use. The air conditioning works only if it is constantly connected. A TV (which you don't really need in the holiday) hangs in the room, sticked with film, looks pretty old. Shower is OK, even if it takes a very long time to air through a small window. There was only a small waste container in the toilet, which you actually used here for the used toilet paper ... We had a room with large balcony, some damage to the walls and two old, totally uncomfortable plastic chairs were there. The outdoor facilities and also the location of the hotel are really good, but there is a little more commitment. There were all the time defected beds at the pool. We had booked with breakfast, unfortunately. The price includes a continental breakfast (2 dishes of dry toast, a stick of butter and a lime marmelade, a coffee, a juice from the box and some fruit. For more you pay for it. Our tip : Go elsewhere to breakfast, If you've already stayed here! The staff (German) was very nice, but seemed boring and unmotivated. Good that we had booked only two nights."

"Excellent location, great staff and customer service. Food and drinks were reasonably priced and were delicious. Pura Vida vibes. Awesome pool and water slide. Convenient board selection and access to beach for rentals and surfing. Cesar was instrumental in helping me with the tours we planned! Overall an amazing experience while visiting Jaco."
